Celebrating APRIR’s 45th anniversary together
Calling out to teachers!
Sharing is at the core of what we do as teachers.
2019 brought us together to celebrate some of the good practices local teachers carry out in their classrooms in “Sharing Teaching”.
This year, on September 4th, we want to celebrate APRIR’s 45th anniversary in an online session featuring a series of 20-minute presentations which explore locally relevant ideas for effective classroom practice in a rapidly changing educational scenario. The aim is to enhance our practice and strengthen our community through collaboration and networking.
We are looking for proposals that address a topic that is relevant for a particular context by describing an activity/ project that has been implemented in a classroom or institution to meet specific needs in a creative or innovative way.
Some possible topics are:
You do not need to be an APRIR member to submit your proposal. Given equal merit, however, priority will be given to members.
General guidelines for the submission of proposals
A. Format and Length
All presentations will be expository sessions, no more than 20 minutes in length, to be delivered on Zoom, illustrated with materials developed for and/or by students. The presentation will be followed by a 5-minute Q&A session in which participants will actively engage with the presenter/s. If you prefer a pre-recorded video rather than a live presentation, please specify so in your submission. You will, however, be required to be available while it is streamed.
B. Proposal description
Your proposal should include:
Title (10 words maximum). It should be self-explanatory.
Presenter’s biodata (50 words maximum).
Abstract (50-75 words). It should accurately reflect the content of what presenters are going to talk about.
Summary (150-250 words). It should provide clear information about the content and organization of the presentation, including how the session will be structured. It may include bibliographical references and supporting theory.
C. Proposal submission
Send your proposal to firstname.lastname@example.org, Subject: Sharing Teaching proposal. Deadline: August 16th, 2021, 11:59 pm.
No late submissions will be accepted. Your proposal will not be considered unless it meets the criteria and guidelines. Receipt of proposals will be acknowledged. If applicants do not receive acknowledgement within 4 days of having sent their proposals, they should re-send it. To avoid duplication, applicants are encouraged to wait 4 days before resubmitting them.
D. Confirmation of acceptance
You will be emailed feedback on your proposal by August 23rd, 2021. In case you have not heard from APRIR by that date, please get in touch with us by email at email@example.com.
